South Valley, NM uses one area code which is area code 505. Area code 505 was the original area code assigned to the
entire state of New Mexico, including South Valley, NM when it was implemented in 1947. In 2007 area code 505 was split to form area code 575. South Valley, New Mexico remained in the 505 area code
boundaries.
In addition to South Valley, NM other large communities using area code 505 include Albuquerque, Espanola, Farmington, Gallup, Los Lunas, Rio Rancho, and Santa Fe, along with many smaller
