Hyder, Alaska Area Code

The Alaskan community of Hyder, is an exception and uses area code 250 which is assigned to British Columbia. Hyder is a very small community and is approximately two miles from British Columbia by road. Any other transportation to areas in Alaska is via plane.

The remainder of the state utilizes area code 907. Area code 907 covers the entire state of Alaska and was established in 1947. In addition to Fairbanks, AK area code 907 serves the larger communities of Anchorage, College, Fairbanks, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka in addition to many smaller communities within the service area.

Hyder, AK is officially in the Alaska Time Zone, however, unofficially Hyder observes Pacific Standard Time.
